About
The International Affairs Section gathers on the second Monday of most months. Over a brown bag lunch, members expand their knowledge of world affairs by discussing a chapter from the Great Decisions study guide, produced by the Foreign Policy Association. Once a year the section hosts a luncheon with a speaker to raise funds for one or more international charities with a focus on women, children, and education.
Details and Other Information
The International Affairs Sections discussions are based on either (1) the current Great Decisions Briefing Book published by the Foreign Policy Association and the accompanying video or (2) a book or documentary which focuses on an international issue from a non-Western perspective. Members take turns leading the discussions and providing multiple points of view.
The International Affairs Section has an annual fundraiser which supports women, children and/or education in foreign countries.
Schedule
The International Affairs Section meets at noon on the second Monday of the month, for most months. Check the Club calendar for the schedule of meetings.
Resources
Most members of the International Affairs Section purchase the current Great Decisions Briefing Book published by the Foreign Policy Association. The section purchases the books in bulk in the fall. Additional books can be purchased at www.fpa.org.
